It's a Mustang up for sale on the BLM site... looks dark liver chestnut, but the mane (which I would expect to see flaxen) is this color:

IMO this is flaxen on a super dark liver (flaxen can only lighten so much apparently). _________________

That's kinda what I was thinking... very unusual and gorgeous color combo! |

Love the contrast. You see this combo a lot in Morgans and QHs for some reason. _________________ Every mighty oak was once an acorn that stood its ground. |

could also be a black that bleached over the summer quite badly and then shed out to start a winter coat.....either way its a really neat coloring! _________________ ~Alexis Ingraham

| I've seen several Arabs like that. They call it a liver chestnut with flaxen mane and tail. Burt Reynolds owned a good example, but I didn't take a pic. |

Yes she is def. a chestnut, some call this black chestnut. In Arabs and QHs you see the red m/t a lot more and in Morgans you see a more straw or greyish colored mane as much as the red mane. Either way that's a cool color and not a bad looking horse. Too bad my bronc busting days are OVER...

They also had a couple silver bays on there. _________________ Every mighty oak was once an acorn that stood its ground. |
